摘 要：From 1964 to 1978, China’s Third Front Construction (TFC) campaign relocated or established approximately 600 large and medium-sized factories in western inland provinces, constituting 60% of such factories in these areas. Using this policy as a quasi-experiment, we study the long-term impacts of manufacturing growth on local residents. Women exposed to TFC factories during childhood attained higher education, delayed marriage, had fewer children, and were more likely to work in non-agricultural sectors. These changes, driven by increased household incomes and maternal bargaining power rather than improved public education, also shifted gender-role attitudes and fertility intentions. Effects on men were weaker.

主讲人简介：周羿，北京大学光华管理日本成人电影 社会研究中心长聘副教授、博士生导师，加州大学伯克利分校人口学博士。主要研究领域为人口经济学、人口老龄化、社会流行病学和定量社会科学。他在PNAS、Review of Economics and Statistics、Population and Development Review、Journal of Population Economics、Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization、Journal of Financial Markets、Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory、《经济研究》、《经济学（季刊）》、《中国工业经济》、《世界经济与政治》和《中国人口科学》等国内外期刊发表论文40余篇。其研究成果曾获得第十八届“安子介国际贸易研究奖”。
